Julia feeding the 3 hour old calf. These calves get bottle fed by hand until they are 2-3 days old, then they are introduced to barrel-feeding.
Off track day 3...looking for something to do in order to avoid a 3rd day of hearing, "I'm bored!" My friend Christina invited us out to her organic dairy, Full Circle Dairy. They've been busy out there calving cows...over 150 calves since mid January. So we picked up a few friends and drove out to check it out. While we didn't get to see any calves being born, we did get to feed a couple that had been born just 3 and 6 hours earlier! We had a great time, learned a lot, and might have inspired a couple future 4-H members!
